Prof. Flávio Plentz is bachelor in Physics by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1985). He received his Master in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1989) and Ph.D in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1993). He was a Posdoc fellow at MIT Francis Bitter National Magnet Lab. between 1993 and 1995 and holds a position as professor at Physics Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais since 1996. Prof. Plentz works in Condensed Matter Physics in particular in micro and nanofabrication, electrical transport properties, optical properties and optical spectroscopy in semiconductor nanodevices, carbon nanotubes and graphene. Has 37 articles published in international journals with about 780 citations. Since August 2012 is the General Coordinator of the Micro and Nanotechnology at the Brazilian Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MCTI).
