Katie Davis helped start the Santa Barbara County Water Guardians and its successful effort to qualify an initiative to ban fracking in Santa Barbara County for the ballot, which she has been doing as a full-time volunteer since leaving her job as VP of Web and Ecommerce at Citrix in April. She is a trained climate leader and presenter with Al Gore's initiative, The Climate Reality Project, a member of the CEC Partnership Council and is the Santa Barbara Sierra Club Global Warming Chair. She is also on the OCTOS Advisory Board for ocean science education and outreach at UCSB. Her 2010 video on climate change the top result on YouTube for “climate change video” for two years, and she won 2nd place in the 2012 Cox Conservation Hero awards.
