Louise Stevenson

Graduate Fellow, Center for Nanotechnology in Society

Doctoral Candidate, Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology, UC Santa Barbara

Louise is a PhD candidate at UCSB in the Ecology, Evolution and Marine Biology department and a Science Fellow at CNS in IRG3 and is a member of the Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology (CEIN). Her doctoral research focuses on the effects of silver and titanium dioxide nanoparticles on freshwater systems empirically and theoretically, utilizing ecological models to direct experimental design and interpret results. Since natural systems are made up of interacting species, her work focuses on experiments to analyze the effects of nanoparticles on a predator-prey system of freshwater algae and their zooplankton predators. Louise received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
