Melissa Bator is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication researching the knowledge sharing interactions among professionals working within the international development community. She is particularly interested in the non-coercive movement of organizational knowledge from the private realm of the organization to the public realm, such as through employee participation in online forums for giving and receiving advice, information etc. Currently, Melissa works for the Center for Information Technology & Society at UCSB assisting in the organization of events. Previous to embarking on her doctoral work, Melissa worked at Johnson & Johnson in the Department of Corporate Contributions.
