Noela Invernizzi

Professor of Anthropology, Education and Public Policy programs, Federal University of Parana

Noela Invernizzi is a Uruguayan Anthropologist, and holds a PhD in Science and Technology Policy (University of Campinas, Brazil). She works at the Education undergraduate program and the Public Policy graduate program of the Federal University of Parana, in Curitiba, Brazil. She had been a post-doctoral researcher at the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes, Columbia University (now at ASU), USA, a professor at the Development Studies Program at Zacatecas Autonomous University, Mexico, and a fellow at the Science, Technology and Innovation Program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Her research has been focused on the implications of industrial innovation for workers’ skills and employment conditions. She is currently researching on the social implications of nanotechnology. She published Flexible and Disciplined. The Brazilian Labor-force after Industrial Restructuring (2004) and two volumes on Nanotechnology in Latin America (2008, 2011 with Guillermo Foladori), as well as several articles in specialized scientific journals.
