This webinar will give an overview of ELSI (Ethical, Legal, & Social Issues) approaches to the responsible development of nanotechnology. Based primarily on work of the Centers for Nanotechnology in Society, the talk will address such questions as: What is meant by “Responsible Development”? Who are the stakeholders in nanotech development, and what are their views on this? What are the main approaches being taken to governance of nanotechnology? Why involve the public?
