First International Nanotechnology & Labor Workshop

The Latin American Nanotechnology & Society Network (ReLANS), in association with the MacArthur Foundation Chair in Global and International Studies and Sociology at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and the Center for Nanotechnology and Society at UCSB (CNS-UCSB), hosted the First International Nanotechnology & Labor Workshop in Curitiba, Brazil, on September 5-6, 2013, as part of the ReLANS’ annual meeting. Experts on a wide array of issues related to the impacts of nanotechnology on labor presented their research findings, in an effort to encourage understanding, analysis, and debate on this important topic.  Participants included both academic experts, union leaders from different Latin American countries, and representatives of the Brazilian government.
