CNS-UCSB director Barbara Herr Harthorn will deliver a keynote speech at the 2013 National Nanotechnology Initiative’s (NNI) Stakeholder Perspectives on the Perception, Assessment, and Management of the Potential Risks of Nanotechnology workshop.  The purpose of this two day workshop is to facilitate stakeholder discussion of key elements needed to assess, manage, and communicate potential risks associated with the use of nanomaterial and nanotechnology-enable d products.  The public workshop will highlight practical tools non-Federal decision makers are using in their consideration of potential risks, including quantities and qualitative assessment and methods tools.  Dr. Harthorn’s talk, “Nanotechnology Multi-Stakeholder Risk Perception: Implications for Risk Analysis Management and Communication” will take place on Wed. September 11 at 9:15am as one part of Session Four:  Keynote Perspectives on Risk Analysis.
