Alex was a CNS-INSET Summer Intern in 2011. He transfered from Santa Barbara City College to the University of California at Santa Barbara in Fall, 2011 to study Economics. He has worked in China, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara on various economic initiatives for multiple organizations, both academic and corporate, including forming trade relationships, researching economic arguments for antitrust litigation, and on Department of Transportation-funded studies. He worked with Amanda Denes in the Center for Nanotechnology in Society in IRG-3, researching expertise in deliberations on nanotechnology, how such expertise is established, and the societal implications of its use.
