Originally from Uruguay, Guillermo Foladori is an anthropologist with a PhD in Economics. He has worked as professor at universities in México, Honduras, Nicaragua, Uruguay, and Brazil and had been visiting fellow at the Consortium for Science Policy and Outcomes at Columbia University. His main research areas are environment, public health and nanotechnology.

Foladori is now teaching in the Doctoral Program on Development Studies at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, México, and is member of the National System of Researchers of México. He coordinates the Latin American Nanotechnology and Society Network
